I was scammed out of $1000 and don't know what to do?

In October, I sold an item to a member that previously bought things from me on eBay. This transaction was OUTSIDE OF EBAY. This buyer listed the same item that I sold to him on eBay, which was bought by another person, and he gave the buyer MY paypal account information. See what happened? He had somebody send their money to me, scamming both of us. I went through paypal claims for about 1 month, and I lost. I talked to a paypal representative and he said that I may be contacted by the FBI if I would like to get my $1000 back, however I am worried about this, as I am under 18, and you are only allowed to use paypal if you are 18 or older. I was told that I may have to go to court to get this money back, however I am worried that the case would be immediately dismissed because I was only 14 at the time of the case. I have plenty of money from my Bar Mitzvah, but that is not relevant. $1,000 is a lot of money. What should I do?
