Would a man do this? or is this just wishful thinking?

Let's say a guy (26) and a girl (21) are friends. The girl is relatively inexperienced with dating ... has only had one serious bf and has not even had yet. She is attractive in the girl-next-door type of way. While the guy is attractive too, he is not currently interested in a relationship with this girl but still talks to her a lot and makes it a point to have a friendship. Both persons are the monogamous type but the guy is not looking for a relationship at the moment.. Is it possible that the guy would maintain a friendship with this girl so that they might one day end up together in a marriage way? Maybe the guy is waiting for the girl to get a little more mature? He knows that she likes him btw ... he never rejected her but he has kept a relationship with her (as friends). Maybe he is attracted to her because of her purity (relative to other girls her age, that is)...or is all this just wishful thinking on thw part of the girl? Lol. Keep in mind that he is always texting or messaging her but not making any moves.... and she is def not a girl that he thinks he could easily bag...... he knows her principles :)
