My laptop screen is completely black after log in?

I have an Inspiron 1525 on windows 7. I was trying to connect my computer to my tv through a cable and it wasn't working. So I started messing around and pressed the windows key and P, and then pressed extend windows. Well, my screen turned black. And now, whenever I log in it flickers and then it is just the black screen with nothing on it. Also, the log on screen doesn't have any mouse. My computer deletes all of my restore points so I can't do anything there. Also, I tried the "take the battery out and hold down the power on" thing and after reboot the computer still does the same thing. I'm running Diagnostics on it now, but I think the hardrive is fine. I mean, it makes all the normal start up noises even when the screen is black!!! Safemode works fine tho, so I have no clue what's up. I'm freaking out here... Anyone know what I can do?!? Is there an easy fix to this?!?!?
