What color pantyhose with black & white dress?

I am wearing a knee length black dress with white pinstripes to my daughters Christening on Sunday-- do I wear black, or white stockings? I am planning on wearing black patent leather heels with it. Also, the dress is short sleeve and it's going to be cold here-- what should I wear over it? I was thinking a white pashmina (if I can find one)-- for a little contrast? Thanks!
