The 787 uses carbon fiber for about 50% of its body, which is a feat that no other commercial aircraft has achieved. The 787 uses innovative pit technology such as bigger displays and HUDs, innovative interior technology such as large electrically dimming windows, and color changing led lighting, and innovative exterior technology such as raked wingtips, bleedless jet engines, and wings that flex more. On the 787, the engines are more quiet, the ride is smoother for pengers, and the plane itself uses less energy.
