Another Auto Burglary How long will it take?

Last night another car was broken into at my favorite bar. After much complaining the police decided to get fingerprints, and get a description. We have seen this guy before so we know it is the same person. My question is how long would it take the police to get a match if this individual does have prints in the system. Will it take months or a matter of days. I know if he is not in the system there is no chance, but if he is would it take long to get a match and find the suspect. This about the tenth car in 4-5 months, same location, and the police finally responded. What is a normal amountof time it would take for them to find a match if there is one in the system? Do you think they even put the prints in the system? At least they came this time.
